Dollywood Announces What’s New In 2023

On Monday, Dollywood announced everything new coming to the theme park for the 2023 season. Things certainly are going to be “BIG” at Dollywood in 2023!

Big Bear Mountain

The “BIGGEST” addition to Dollywood in 2023 is the addition of Big Bear Mountain. Big Bear Mountain is Dollywood’s newest and longest roller coaster. The family roller coaster is nearly 4,000 ft. long, features on-board audio and promises guests a thrilling adventure through the hills bordering Wildwood Grove in search for Big Bear. Big Bear Mountain is set to open in Spring of 2023. You can get more information about the new roller coaster here.

Dollywood Operating Calendar

Not only will Dollywood be getting bigger, but their operating calendar is growing as well. Dollywood announced that 15 days would be added to their 2023 operating calendar. The additional days come throughout the year, meaning guests can enjoy more of everything the 2023 season has to offer.

I Will Always Love You Celebration

Dollywood is celebrating one of Dolly Parton’s biggest hits. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of “I Will Always Love You”, Dollywood is hosting a special celebration. The “I Will Always Love You Celebration” will take place March 11-April 8.

Kicking off the Spring season, this festive event will commemorate the art of songwriting and the stories behind the songs. In addition to honoring Dolly’s iconic status as a songwriter, the event will also recognize a number of noted singer/songwriters with headline performances throughout the festival. The festival will also feature special décor and delicious culinary offerings as well.

Dollywood Seasonal Festivals

Dollywood also announced the return of several popular festivals. 

Flower & Food Festival (April 21-June 4) is returning with its iconic mosaiculture displays and vivid larger-than-life flower sculptures. The festival will also have a menu full of dishes that highlight the flavors of spring in the Smokies.

Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration (June 17-August 6) is also returning with fan favorites like Sweet Summer Nights drone and fireworks show, and Gazillion Bubble Show Aurora. Liquid Beats, Hydro Jive Junction and the Bubble Foam Zone all return in 2023 as well.

Harvest Festival (Sept. 22- Nov. 4) is returning with its thousands of carved pumpkins, spirited performances from talented singers, and the fun of Great Pumpkin LumiNights.

Smoky Mountain Christmas (Nov. 11- Jan. 6) is back in 2023 with six million lights, festive holiday shows, and the cozy Christmas atmosphere of the Smokies.

Dollywood Season Passes For 2023

Dollywood has three options for season passes for 2023. The three levels of season passes are silver, gold, and diamond. Dollywood also offers a Military discount for season passes.

Passes are currently on sale now with reduced pricing until Oct. 30 for current Dollywood season passholders and those who pre-registered for this special offer. On Oct. 31, 2022, the season passes go on sale to the general public. You can see all the different perks that come along with the different level of passes here.

When Does Dollywood Open In 2023?

Dollywood closes for the season on January 2, 2023. Dollywood re-opens to the general public on March 11, 2023.
