Ober Mountain

Ober Mountain is a wonderful place to visit with kids at any time during the year. There are so many fun activities and outdoor activities for your kids at Ober Mountain.

During the spring, summer, and fall; take a scenic ride on the aerial tramway or on the scenic chairlift. Or take a thrilling ride on Ober’s ski mountain coaster or the alpine slide. To cool off, head on inside for indoor ice skating and ice bumper cars on the ice rink. Have kids who love animals? Then the wildlife encounter is not to be missed.

During the winter, Ober Mountain becomes a child’s winter wonderland. Head up to the slopes and have a ski and snowboarding day. Looking for something a little different? Then check out the snow tubing. Have little ones? Then let the little ones enjoy the thrill of snow in the snow zone.

You can’t go to Gatlinburg with kids and not visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is the perfect destination for your family to escape the hustle and bustle of life and take a deep breath of the fresh air of nature. The national park has so much to offer for your family. From stunning hiking trails, breathtaking waterfalls and streams, scenic drives, fishing, horseback riding trails, campsites, picnic areas, and historic buildings there is so much to do that will satisfy the whole family.

Ripley’s Aquarium

Ripley’s Aquarium is an amazing place to visit for the whole family.

Ripley’s Aquarium boasts over 10,000 exotic sea creatures that the youngest kids will enjoy. Stand in awe at the sharks, play with the penguins, or watch the aquarium’s green sea turtle gracefully glide through the water. Or take a walk through the underwater tunnel as you enjoy the fish swimming above and around you. There is so much for the family to see at this aquarium in Gatlinburg!

Ripley’s Aquarium also has a variety of shows your kiddos will love. Watch the aquarium’s own penguins get fed or (if you visit during the summer) watch Ripley’s mermaids play and swim gracefully among other shows. Ripley’s Aquarium also has two different add on experiences including a glass bottom boat and a penguin encounter.

Gatlinburg SkyLift Park

Gatlinburg SkyLife Park offers one of the best views for the whole family in Gatlinburg.

Hop aboard the Gatlinburg SkyLift as it takes you and your family on a chairlift ride 1,800 feet above sea-level to the top of Crockett Mountain as you enjoy the breathtaking views.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. At the top the Gatlinburg SkyBridge is waiting to be conquered. The Gatlinburg SkyBridge is the longest pedestrian cable bridge in North America and offers incredible views of Gatlinburg.

But that’s not all Gatlinburg SkyLift Park has to offer. Behind the SkyBridge is the Gatlinburg SkyTrail. The SkyTrail is just over one-third of a mile and offers three different areas for your kids to explore: which includes The Elevated-Boardwalk, The Tulip Tower, and The Path.

Anakeesta

Anakeesta is a unique experience for the whole family in Gatlinburg. There is so much to do!

You start your adventure at Anakeesta riding the scenic Chondola on your way up to the adventure amusement park. Once you make it to the top, a variety of activities for the whole family await.

For the true nature lovers, check out AnaVista Tower for wonderful views on the smokies at the tallest point in downtown Gatlinburg. Or experience the treetops on Anakeesta’s Tree Top Skywalk, the longest tree-based skywalk in North America.

For the kiddos who love to play, check out the TreeVenture Challenge Course, Anakeesta’s own interactive treehouse. Or check out the Treehouse Adventure Play Area and play among the treehouse villages connected by bridges. Or experience the BearVenture Challenge Course and try to complete the black bear themed challenge course.

Anakeesta also has a range of add on experiences as well. The experiences include the Dueling Ziplies, The Rail Runner (Anakeesta’s Mountain Coaster), Gem Mining, and the very popular Astra Lumina Enchanted Night Walk.

Located in the Village Shops, Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen is a kids dream come true.

Your kids will be mesmerized as they watch fresh candy made in front of their eyes. From taffy, candy apples, chocolates, and more, Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen has an amazing assortment of treats that will satisfy even the pickiest eaters.

Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen is Gatlinburg’s oldest candy store and is famous for their classic homemade taffy. They offer 33 different flavors on this amazing homemade taffy. They even offer sugar free taffy as well.

Gatlin’s Fun Center

Gatlin’s Fun Center offers fun and exciting activities for all ages.

Gatlin’s Fun Center has 10 different kid friendly activities to choose from. They have 5 different themed escape rooms, an amazing mirror maze, bumper cars, virtual reality, a ropes course, a laser maze, and the Automatic Rush (a combination of Simon Says and Whack-A-Mole). But their most popular attractions are their lazer tag and their mini golf courses.

Gatlin’s Fun Center has 2 different options for mini golf, which includes their two outdoor mini golf courses and their indoor black light mini golf course. Whether you’re looking for outdoor or indoor mini golf, Gatlin’s is an amazing place to play mini golf with your kids.

Or if you’re looking for something different, you can try Gatlin’s own laser tag. Gatlin’s indoor laser tag arena is 3000 sq. ft. and offers four different play modes. The different modes include Individual Play (free-for-all), Group Play, Team Capture (team play but if you hit a person they become part of your team), and Vampire (destroy the vampires before they turn everyone into vampires).

Wild Bear Falls Waterpark

Wild Bear Falls Waterpark is an indoor Smoky Mountain themed waterpark your kids will love.

Wild Bear Falls Waterpark has eight different attractions your kiddos will love. Ramsey Cascades interactive water treehouse that has two thrilling slides and water spouts that your kids will love. It even has a 300-gallon bucket full of water waiting to dump. Little Pigeon River is the perfect place for a splash pad experience for the little ones. Cades Cove is Wild Bear Falls’ own 900-foot lazy river.

Clingman’s Dome is a 350 foot long tube water slide with a splash of water at the bottom. Laurel Falls is another of Wild Bear Falls water slides. This one is fully enclosed and takes you on many twists and turns. Moonshine Hollow is the perfect way to relax at this indoor/outdoor sauna. Grotto Falls is a hot tub experience for all ages. The Swimming Hole is the best place for just some old fashioned swimming.

Gatlinburg Space Needle

Gatlinburg Space Needle is the ultimate landmark in Gatlinburg that is not to be missed.

Take your kids on a ride on the glass elevators to the top of the Gatlinburg Space Needle. From the observation deck, look out upon the 360° view of the Great Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg from the 407 ft high Gatlinburg Space Needle.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! At the bottom of the Gatlinburg Space Needle is Arcadia, an arcade full of over 200 classic and modern arcade games that your kids will enjoy.
